This adorable family reached out to me about wanting to do a family session. We discussed locations and quickly decided on one of my favorites, Starr’s Mill Park. Located in Fayetteville, GA, it’s an absolutely gorgeous photoshoot location.
This location is always at the top of my list when clients ask where I like to shoot. It’s just a picturesque little spot that’s kind of tucked away. There’s a red barn, grassy hills and even a waterfall. And let me tell you…during the fall, it’s even more gorgeous. Once all the leaves start to change, it’s really something to see. There’s a reason so many photographers shoot there!

And now I’d like to talk about this precious family. The dad reached out to me originally and said he was a little nervous booking because he wasn’t sure how his two young daughters would do at a photoshoot. Listen, family photoshoots can be stressful. They just can. Especially when your children are little and their mood can change at the drop of a hat. LOL. But hear me and hear me now people. EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE.
When I first started photography, I shot everything. I shot families, seniors and even a couple of weddings. I quickly realized that family and child photography was all I wanted to do. I’ve had photographer friends tell me I’m crazy and ask why I would want to specialize in young children that can go rouge at any point during the shoot. But honestly, that’s the fun part!
I always shoot a mix of posed and candid pictures but my favorite images will ALWAYS be the candid shots. Being able to sit back and document your child just running around and laughing, without a care in the world? That’s heaven to me. I love being able to capture authentic smiles and genuine moments.
All of this to say, please don’t worry about how your child’s going to act during a shoot. I promise we’ll make it work. I have the patience of Job. I mean not when it’s my child. LOL. But when it’s someone else’s? Absolutely.
So here’s some cute little moments that I was able to capture at this family photoshoot at Starr’s Mill Park. If you’re interested in shooting here, please reach out and we can set something up!
