As the weather starts to cool down, there’s no better time to capture your family’s bond and create lasting memories!! I love the fall season so much. I would love it even more if the state of Georgia would get it together. We basically go from the inferno that is a Georgia summer straight to winter, with maybe 12 days of fall weather. But man for those 12 days, I’m happy as a clam. A clam wearing a cute scarf.
But while we don’t always get the Nora Ephron movie autumn of my dreams, it’s still a great time to get family pictures done! So today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite themes I ever offered for a fall mini session.
I will always love full family sessions, where we can take our time and really capture those memories. But sometimes, I do like to offer mini sessions. Mini sessions are wonderful because they’re designed to be efficient yet still capture wonderful memories with your family. A mini session will typically last between 15 to 20 minutes. It may not seem like a lot of time but I promise I can get enough pictures for a stunning gallery of images!
-Fall Mini Session-
These pictures actually took place in my backyard! We have a great backyard that has a fire pit area. So I thought it’d be fun (and convenient) if I just shot back there! It was so much fun! I had everything set up with all you’d need to roast marshmallows and make S’mores. Did it get a little messy? Yes. Yes it did. But it was worth it because all the kids had so much fun. Getting children to cooperate during a shoot can be……challenging to say the least sometimes. But you dangle some melted chocolate and marshmallows in front of them? Easy-peasy.
Family photoshoots can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you have young children. That’s why campfire sessions were the perfect idea for a fall mini session! I was able to capture truly candid laughter and genuine interactions between families. And anyone familiar with my photography knows that candid photography will always be where my heart is!
So if you’d like any information about upcoming mini sessions, I’d love to chat! Please feel free to reach out!
